Planning
School Administration
Creative Video Production in the Classroom staff meet with school administration to confirm the workshop course, agree to the level of participation, and draft the workshop schedule. This meeting includes a discussion of available video production equipment, the budget for additional equipment and discussion about the printing of workbooks, promotional materials and workshop documents. Safety of students guidelines is reviewed.
Teacher Advisor(s)
Creative Video Production in the Classroom staff meet with teacher advisors to discuss best practices for workshop management. Discussion includes student management, a review of workshop schedule and expected content, safety of student’s guidelines, and recommendations for teacher participation.
Adult Volunteer Orientation
All adults will be provided with an orientation prior to the start of this program so that they can guide students in the workshops. The orientation takes place in virtual sessions with one in-person session. No experience necessary. Adults with organizational and media skills a bonus.
Classroom Pack
Option 1 – Workshop Staff Guided Workshops
For schools who chose to opt for Creative Video Production in the Classroom staff to lead all the workshop sessions, a Classroom Pack reviews the schedule and content of each session. The pack includes a teacher binder with documents to prep the teacher ahead of each session.
Option 2 – Teacher Guided Workshops
For those teachers and adult volunteers who want to lead the workshops without workshop staff, the Classroom Pack contains all of the materials needed to introduce teachers and students to the art of video production. The materials are designed for elementary teachers with very little experience in video production. The pack includes an administrator binder, a teacher lesson plan, teacher powerpoint slides with embedded videos, and a hard copy of the workbook.
