Club Organization

Purpose

To build a community of student producers and writers who can work in teams to create stories for print and video projects.

To give the students support for creative projects so they can learn from other creatives to help them further develop their skills.

Provide a safe space where students can experiment with creativity in a supporting environment.

To keep the students from fall 2024 and spring 2025 connected and participating in activities once the spring 2025 workshop ends.

Membership

Membership is open to all current 5th and 6th grade students at Saint Joseph Catholic School. Membership includes:

  • Access to a platform (LMS like Google Classroom) to collaborate on team projects.
  • Access to story building experts.
  • Links to professional instructional videos.
  • Bling access – club merchandise (free and for sale).
  • Resources – to create stories.

Principles

Spiritual and Intellectual Growth – opportunities to learn more about faith and the world around us by study, experience, participation and reflection.

Creative Development – collaboration with others to design, plan and create projects that challenge each other lead to innovative results.

Community Engagement – partnering with other organizations to learn about and promote the people and services in our community.

Service – volunteering to provide support and care for those in need in our community.

Team Building – collaboration with other club members to work in a unifying manner to support each other and achieve goals.

Positions

Club President – the student leader works with the adult leader to promote the club vision, run the meetings, helps to delegate tasks, and motivate members.

Club Vice President – supports the president, may act as a back-up, and assists in the managing of events.

Club Secretary – keeps records of all meetings.

Club Treasurer – helps to manage the clubs finances.

Public Relations – promotes the club and club activities, and builds membership.

Parents

  1. Students will be participating in imagination exercises. We want to provide unique places for them to explore to stimulate their ideas for stories.
  2. Importance of adult role models – adult men and women. We encourage young and older adults to participate in club activities.

Possible Partnerships:

Club organizers are currently meeting with local organizations to provide resources and meeting facilities for the club activities.
